As part of our Black History Month events, we are proud to feature Tulsa Burning: The 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, a powerful documentary that sheds light on one of the darkest chapters in American history. This film takes an in-depth, sobering look at the tragic events that unfolded a century ago in Tulsa’s Greenwood District, once known as Black Wall Street. Through the rise of this vibrant and prosperous Black community, its catastrophic destruction over two days of racial violence, and the long-lasting aftermath, the documentary offers a compelling narrative of resilience and the enduring fight for justice.

With meticulous research, firsthand accounts, and evocative storytelling, Tulsa Burning serves as both a remembrance and a call to action—highlighting the need for acknowledgment, accountability, and reconciliation. Join us as we honor the legacy of those who were affected and reflect on the lessons of this pivotal moment in history.

Film will feature a post-screening discussion led by International Quilt Artivist Allyson Allen.
