JRB FINANCIAL PULSE
February 2022 — Issue #53
A Word from the CEO

Over the last year we've seen inflation rise to 40-year highs. Our lead article, "Understanding Inflation," addresses what causes inflation generally and whether this spike in prices is different. We also look at how policymakers are addressing inflation and make some observations on what long-term investors — and retirees drawing income from their savings — can do to minimize the impact.

This issue of the Financial Pulse also notes some changes to the JRB Board of Trustees. After generously agreeing to finish the late Rabbi Marans' term on the Board, Rabbi Andrea Merow is stepping down. In her stead, Rabbi Tracee Rosen will join the Board on behalf of the Rabbinical Assembly. In addition, Ms. Dana Sharon Winer joins the Board as a representative of The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism. On behalf of our 3,500 participants, the JRB thanks you for your service!

Finally, I recently saw an interesting article by WalletHub ranking each of the 50 states on affordability, quality of life and health care in retirement. If you're thinking about relocating, this is one piece of information to consider. You'll find a link to the results below.
