Your Path To Stress Relief Begins Here

Hello Heidi,

In response to what seems likes a never-ending barrage of stressful events over the past few years, we wanted to dedicate this issue to the topic of STRESS and how we are addressing it with NET (NeuroEmotional Techniquei) for our patients at InnerMovement.

There has been a new awakening in the understanding of stress and how it impacts our health. We highly recommend our patients watch the documentary film STRESSED:

The documentary follows a team of researchers as they study the effects of N.E.T. on patients with chronic stress disorder, including veterans and survivors of trauma. Through candid interviews, we gain insight into how this intervention has helped them cope with their emotions and improve their quality of life. We hear from experts in the field about their thoughts on the effectiveness of N.E.T., and gain a better understanding of the science behind it.

Emotional stress used to be seen only as a component of the mind, now we know it is a physical response residing in the body.

At its core, stress is essential to our survival. When faced with danger, whether real or perceived, we experience a built-in fight or flight response. Different structures of the central nervous system and peripheral tissues such as the hypothalamus, pituitary, and adrenal glands, help mediate the stress response.

Once an acute threat has passed, the body returns to normal. However, when the body is exposed to long-term, chronic stress, negative health effects can occur as a result. Think of it like a stuck gas pedal that constantly revs the engine in your car, flooding it with a steady stream of gas (cortisol). Over time, this can lead to severe adrenal exhaustion. Conditions related to chronic stress include cardiovascular disease, cognitive impairment, diabetes, gastrointestinal problems, obesity, skin rashes, asthma, arthritis, and depression.

In the popular Netflix documentary HEAL, Director Kelly Noonan Gores' states, "our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions have a huge impact on our health and ability to heal. The latest science reveals that we are not victims of unchangeable genes, nor should we buy into a scary prognosis. The fact is we have more control over our health and life than we have been taught to believe" (2019). This film will empower you with a new understanding of the miraculous nature of the human body and the extraordinary healer within us all.

We recommend everyone watch these empowering documentaries. They speak to the innate healing capabilities of the body and alternative healing modalities, like NET, Chiropractic and Acupuncture, that are geared toward removing interference(like chronic stress) and restoring the natural flow of the healing energy within.

If you have pain, if you have stress accumulating in your body that you are ignoring or a loved one is complaining of pain and grabbing too often for the bottle of pills, please call our office and make an appointment to HEAL.

Acupuncture & Stress

Acupuncture is highly effective for many conditions, especially stress, anxiety and depression. Acupuncture doesn't hurt. When the hair like needle is inserted a sensation similar to a mosquito bite is felt. Once the acupuncture point is activated you feel a pleasant sensation as movement of energy in the meridian is activated. This movement results in shifting from sympathetic (fight/flight) to parasympathetic (relaxation) nervous system activation decreasing pain & downregulating stress physiology.
