Have you ever wondered what part of the Election Code changed in previous legislative sessions?

1.       Go to Index to Sections Affected: https://lrl.texas.gov/legis/isaf/lrlhome.cfm

2.       Choose the session you’re looking for.

3.       In the Code drop-down box select “Election Code”

4.       In the Status box, select “Enrolled”

5.       Click the Search button.

You’ll get the Election Code section affected, whether it adds, amends, or repeals, and the bill number with active links.

Ever wished you could get a direct phone number instead of punching through a menu and sitting on hold? Texas has a Department of Information Resources! You can search by agency, first name, or last name.

https://dir.my.salesforce-sites.com/phonebook

For example, enter “SOS” and you’ll see direct numbers to SOS employees (which includes more than just the Elections Division of SOS)

Where can you get the cool little “Texas Legislative Handbook” that has the members, maps, and committee information at your fingertips? You can buy one in the Capitol Gift Shop on level E1 of the Capitol, at the Texas Capitol Visitors Center Gift Shop at 112 East 11th St, or you can order one online at https://www.txdirectory.com/catalog/detail.php?id=4

Are you a “numbers nerd”? Check out the budget process for the 2026-2027 biennium and links to many informative budget resources. https://lrl.texas.gov/legis/budget.cfm

The Legislative Staff Directory is a useful tool to help you find the names and titles of the staff working in each member’s office and on the committees. https://lrl.texas.gov/scanned/hrostafflists/staff89.pdf

As the Texas election landscape rapidly transforms, we find ourselves at a critical intersection of activity at every level. From the upcoming Spring May 3 local elections across our communities to the accelerating pace of our state legislature's session, the electoral environment is buzzing with change. Meanwhile, Congress debates significant election reform proposals at the federal level, and the President has recently issued an executive order on elections that could impact Texans. In this dynamic environment, the Texas Election Network remains your steadfast guide through it all.

As we look to the months ahead amid this unprecedented level of activity that can potentially impact our electoral process, I invite you to join TEN's mission of strengthening Texas through informed grassroots participation. Our dedicated team remains committed to educating, equipping, empowering, and revitalizing civic engagement across our great state—especially during this consequential time.
