New NAR Fair Housing Requirement Aligns with Code of Ethics Cycle

The National Association of REALTORS® now requires all members—both new and existing—to complete 2 hours of Fair Housing/Anti‑Bias training every 3 years, in tandem with the established Code of Ethics. This requirement officially began January 1, 2025, and must be fulfilled by December 31, 2027, and then every three-year cycle thereafter.

Fortunately for our members, New Jersey already requires licensees to complete a Fair Housing course for continuing education once every two years for license renewal. That means by taking one of NEXUS' state-approved Fair Housing CE courses, you can fulfill both the NJ CE requirement and the new NAR Fair Housing training requirement— knocking out two obligations with one class.

Please note: The new NAR Fair Housing requirement does not need to be completed until December 31, 2027.

May QuickStats: Sales Slip in May, Northeast Holds Steady

U.S. existing-home sales dipped 0.5% month-over-month and 2.0% year-overyear to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.00 million units, according to the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). Year-over-year, sales were down in every region except the Northeast.
