EMERGENCY UNEMPLOYMENT BENEFITS AVAILABLE
On March 17, 2020 Governor Roy Cooper issued an executive order that allows people whose employment was effected by coronavirus (job loss, laid off, hour reduction) to file for unemployment benefits.

Governor Cooper's executive order also removed the one-week waiting period to apply, removes the requirement that a recipient of benefits must also look for work during this time, permits applicants to apply online or by phone, and directs that employers would not be responsible for benefits paid as a result of these coronavirus claims.

You can apply for benefits online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
