Unexpected Breakthroughs in Nepal
In Nepal, students and leaders experienced unexpected breakthroughs! Kim Bearden and his team spent twenty days in Nepal leading a retreat for 287 students, taking 57 leaders to the next level in Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry, and exploring partnerships with other ministries for future ministry together. Each opportunity produced immediate fruit.
Student Retreat
Kim led the 287 students through our Nepali Spending Time Alone with God book. Each student had a book. The response to having a Quiet Time, according to Kim, "became an overwhelming experience, taken seriously, especially Scripture Memory and practical application." Before the retreat this was a foreign concept to them. The primary spiritual struggle that surfaced was anger and unforgiveness. Many breakthroughs occurred and students followed through with people they needed to forgive.
Religious Traditions
"In a Hindu and Buddhist country, often Christians still believe in the Hindu/Buddhist tradition that all religions are equally true. The centuries-old spiritual warfare about this is intense. Our team had many one-to-one opportunities to share the unique truth of the Gospel, to encourage them about their families, and to challenge them to live their faith boldly instead of keeping it to themselves." - Kim Bearden
Leader Training
The 57 leaders on the youth ministry retreat had gone through our Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry training before. Kim took the next steps of disciple-making with them. "In our 'Go Deeper' session, we did a Bible Study on forgiveness that resulted in many leaders asking God and other individuals for forgiveness. They confessed many lies they believe about God and themselves. In our 'Build Leaders' and 'Disciple Students' sessions they committed to becoming more intentional disciples themselves, and they identified the teenagers they will disciple during the next six months. They left with the resources needed for their groups."
Ministry Partners
In Kathmandu, Kim connected with the key leaders at the Baptist Bible College, with Jomesh Tamang (above center) with Global Lead, a partner with Reach Out, and the Southern Baptist International Mission Board leadership--all desiring to partner with our Jesus-Focused Youth Ministry training. Kim will begin working with each of these groups in January 2017.
Right now Kim is leading JFYM training in Bangladesh. He leaves behind him these beautiful faces of students challenged and leaders more fully trained... and the Kingdom of God advanced in Nepal.

That happens because you invest in making it happen. For that we have great gratitude!
