Hunterdon Commissioners Join Land Preservation Groups Opposing Bills Mandating Unfunded Forestry Plans
The Hunterdon County Board of Commissioners, at the June 1st Board meeting, called for the state legislature to listen to the concerns of land preservation stakeholders and re-examine legislation requiring unfunded forestry management state mandates.
The bills, A-4843, 4844 and 4845, are presently under consideration in the Assembly Appropriations Committee.
Commissioner Shaun C. Van Doren said, “These legislative initiatives deserve a further examination because there are too many organizations that support land and forest preservation, the protection of endangered animals and plant species, and protection of clean water, that have concerns about these bills.”

Hunterdon Summer Concert
Series Back At Deer Path Park
The County Parks & Recreation Division announced the ‘Music Under The Stars’ summer concert series and recently moved the concert series location, returning to Deer Path Park, Commissioner Matthew Holt reported.
Commissioner Holt, the Board’s Parks liaison, said, “Due to the relaxation of the state’s Emergency Orders, and the ability to safely meet outdoors while following current CDC guidelines, the Parks Division felt it was right to return to Deer Path Park for the summer concert series. Life is slowly returning to normal and we are grateful to the Parks & Recreation Division for offering family-oriented activities, throughout the pandemic, keeping everyone safe and entertained.”
