Dear Carondelet Community,
As we wrap up September and the early weeks of school, I want to address our uniform and campus expectations. Over the years, Catholic school uniforms have evolved to meet various needs, and today, our guidelines serve to foster school spirit and maintain a professional academic environment.
Overall, our students have been doing an excellent job adhering to the basic uniform requirements—wearing Carondelet or De La Salle tops, approved bottoms, and closed-toed shoes. We appreciate everyone's efforts in meeting these expectations, as it positively impacts our school culture.
However, we need to address the issue of skirt and short length. Our goal is to model a professional atmosphere at school. Practically speaking, skirts and shorts should fall approximately four inches above the knee which is in line with our overall uniform policy. This means the hem should fall below the fingertips when arms are relaxed at the sides, and hems should always be visible beneath shirts and outerwear.
Starting in October, after the long holiday weekend, any student with three or more violations regarding skirt or short length will temporarily lose their skirt/short privileges. We encourage families to discuss skirt/short length with their students, as the primary responsibility for attire rests with the student and their parents or guardians.
To assist with this transition, we are offering a $25 Dennis Uniform credit to any student who brings in a uniform skirt that no longer fits to the Dean. Supplies are limited, so please take advantage of this offer while it lasts.
Thank you for your cooperation and support.
