Outstanding Citizen – David Tullis, Retired Maumee Police Chief
Awarded to one person that has displayed outstanding dedication and contribution to the community. The Outstanding Citizen Award recipient has consistently given time and talent to make the community a better place to live. Selection criteria is broad, as contribution and impact can be measured or determined in many ways. Things such as community leadership, community organization involvement, service, volunteerism, and even things like business success, personal or professional achievement, or recognition brought to the Maumee community because of an individual’s efforts.
Hometown Hero – Cheryl Herr, McLaren St. Luke's
Awarded to an individual who has who has improved the Maumee community through their work, volunteer efforts or service. The Hometown Hero recipient has gone above and beyond and demonstrated either a heroic action, humanitarian effort, or significant compassion for our residents. The Hometown Hero is someone who has had a positive and direct impact on the citizens of Maumee, making their lives better.
Maumee River Business Award - Savage
Awarded to a company or organization that is making a tangible, measurable impact in the Maumee community. This might be the result of any number of activities, such as job creation, workforce development, volunteer efforts, board service, philanthropic support or innovative business models that promote social goals. The Maumee River Award recipient is a business leader in the community.
Bridge Award (2)– Pride of the Panthers, Joseph A. Dollman
Awarded to an individual, company or organization that has helped foster and develop the youth of our community. This individual or organization is a leader to children and young adults through coaching, mentoring, or facilitating after school activities and clubs. The Bridge award recipient cultivates compassion, success, and outstanding citizenry in the youth of our community.
Golden Apple Award – Jason Dugan, Shayla Ferguson, Amy Stough
Award to recognize a teacher, counselor, youth leader or mentor who has gone above and beyond in your school. The Golden Apple Award is presented to an individual who has shown excellence in education and made a difference in a students life, in schools, churches, or other community settings. Golden Apple winners are excellent role models who inspire their students to become successful in the classroom and in life.

William Vaughan Company Expands Into Bowling Green with Merger of Radel, Smith & Associates
Toledo, Ohio (July 1, 2021) – Locally recognized accounting and advisory firm William Vaughan Company (WVC) is excited to announce its recent merger with Radel, Smith & Associates (RSA). Effective today, RSA’s Bowling Green-based staff will remain in their current location at 175 East Washington Street, Bowling Green, Ohio which will now operate under the name William Vaughan Company and serve as WVC’s Bowling Green office.
