Focused Prayer Summer Study
Jesus taught a parable to his disciples, revealing that they should always pray and never give up!

In the 1990’s, it was my priviledge to teach a prayer school in the mid-west for 10 years. One of the most effective and beneficial methods of prayer i gleaned during that time was a prayer technique called, “focused prayer.”

This simple training technique allows us to bow our natural thoughts, to the super-natual power of God’s word where we can simply soak in our Heavenly Father’s divine love!

“Focused Prayer” will consist of a 6 week class beginning, Tuesday, July 9th @ 10:00am, right here in our Sanctuary. Each session will last 30 minutes.

The text for this class will be a very familiar scripture,
“The Lord’s Prayer”. We will be allowing Christ’s teaching of this prayer to his disciples to expand our hearts, minds and spirits. Come, participate in a refreshing, life changing prayer experience and allow “The Lord’s Prayer” to revive you as never before!

Summer Book Discussions
Join Pastor Mark Williams this Wednesday, July 10th at 10am in the Sunset Conference Room for a discussion on Michael Medved's The American Miracle . In The American Miracle , bestselling author and radio host Michael Medved recounts some of the most significant events in America’s rise to prosperity and power, from the writing of the Constitution to the Civil War. He reveals a record of improbabilities and amazements that demonstrate what the Founders always believed: that events unfolded according to a master plan, with destiny playing an unmistakable role in lifting the nation to greatness.
Ladies Who Lunch
Join the ladies of UCMI for lunch on the first Thursday of every month at 1PM.

This is a great time to get to know other women at UCMI that you are not acquainted with and grow in Christian love together.

Due to the 4th of July holiday, the ladies have moved their lunch to Wednesday, July 10th at 1 PM. This month's lunch will be at Carrabba's Italian Grill on Tamiami Trail E.
Camp Able

Volunteers Needed!

United Church is sponsoring supper at Camp Able on Saturday, July 20 th at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

Volunteers needed at 4 – 6:30 PM to set-up, serve 200 campers & staff, and clean-up.
Camp Able will again happen on Marco Island the week of July 15 th to 21 st at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. It is an overnight camp experience specifically created many years ago to provide a unique camping environment for persons with diverse abilities.

Camper’s activities vary based on location. Camp Able on Marco Island includes water sports (waterslide, boating, fishing, stand-up paddle boarding, kayaking, scuba, pool and beach), Island excursions, bike tour, music, games, gymnastics, dance, arts & crafts, time for manicures and pedicures, and a talent show. There is even a day where campers can shop at UCMI's Bargain Basket!

Camp Able aspires to be a community that celebrates diverse abilities and gifts. Camp Able is not about what we can't do, but what we "can" do. Its goal is to establish, at least for one week, a community of unconditional love, compassion, and acceptance. Throughout the week, Marco Island churches and civic groups take turns providing a delicious meal for the 200 campers and staff.

How can you help? Our church will be providing the meal at St Mark’s on Saturday, July 20 th for 200 people. George and Carol will be cooking sloppy joes.  We need volunteers at 4:00 to set the tables, serve the 200 campers & staff, and cleanup.  Contact Carol at 860-331-7657 or carolopete49@gmail.com if you can assist. We guarantee it will be a memorable experience for all.
