UNITED HOMECARE® AWARDED ALZHEIMER’S DISEASE INITIATIVE (ADI) CONTRACT IN BROWARD COUNTY

PLANTATION, FL, February 16, 2023 - United HomeCare®, a non-profit 501(c)(3) home and community-based care organization with a 50-year history of service to South Florida’s older adult and disabled adult community, is pleased to announce that it has been awarded the Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative (ADI) Contract for 2023 by The Area Agency on Aging of Broward County for the delivery of home care and support services to individuals with Alzheimer’s and related dementias.

This enables our Agency to expand our best-in-class care services to older adults and their family caregivers in Broward County, as we have proudly done for the past 50 years.” -- Carlos L. Services under this contract will start in March 2023 by referral from The Area Agency on Aging of Broward County. “We thank our legislative leaders and Governor DeSantis for their continued support and funding for Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care and Support Services in Florida," said Carlos L. The Area Agency on Aging of Broward County - The Areawide Council on Aging, Inc. of Broward County d/b/a The Area Agency on Aging of Broward County (AAABC) is a nonprofit organization serving Broward County's senior residents, age 60 or older. The Areawide Council on Aging, Inc. was incorporated in 1974. The AAABC is part of a State Network which contains a total of 11 Area Agencies on Aging in the State of Florida which each have their own planning and service areas (PSAs). The AAABC is designated as PSA 10 and is the only PSA comprised of one county, Broward County.


The AAABC exists to improve the quality of life for all seniors living in Broward County. We do this by collaborating with other organizations and providing exceptional, compassionate leadership in a broad array of programs dedicated to allowing those we serve to continue to live life to their fullest potential.


The AAABC also administers the Aging and Disability Resource Center which serves adults over 60 as well as individuals 18 years of age or older who have been diagnosed with dementia or live with a disability. The ADRC is part of a single, coordinated system for information and access to services for all Floridians seeking long-term care resources. The ADRC provides information and assistance about state and federal benefits, as well as available local programs and services.
