A Word from the Pastor
Sunday Worship
10 a.m. in Sanctuary
Online worship at 10 a.m. on Facebook
This Sunday we will celebrate the Baptism of the Lord as we reaffirm our baptismal vows. We cherish this story of Jesus when John baptized him, the heavens opened, the Holy Spirit descended in the form of a dove, and God said, "You are my Son, chosen and marked by my love, pride of my life." It was the beginning of the ministry of Jesus. In our baptism and reaffirmation, we, too, are named, claimed as God's beloved and marked to carry the love, joy, peace and hope to all we meet. As our liturgy proclaims, we acknowledge what God has done and is doing for us, as we reaffirm our commitment to Christ's holy church. Come, remember your baptism, and be thankful! If you are joining us online, please have a small bowl of water to remember your baptism and be thankful.

Sunday Worship
10 a.m. in Hickey Hall
This Sunday we celebrate the Baptism of the Lord.  Join me as we hear once more God’s word to Jesus: “You are my Son, the Beloved, with you I am well pleased” (Luke 3:22).  As God spoke this promise to Jesus, God says the same thing at our baptisms.  What does it mean for us to be seen as “Beloved” in God’s eyes?  How may it shape our own faith journey as followers of Jesus?  See you Sunday!

Treasures: Core Valuables, Core Values!
If you counted your blessings today, what would be your Top Ten? We could call that list an inventory of your treasures. Let’s consider how what you think is most valuable reflects your core values that define who you truly are. Find us on Facebook at St. Paul's United Methodist Church-Rochester.

Caregivers Support Group
Saturday, January 8; 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. in Rickard Chapel
The challenges of caregiving can result in caregivers ignoring their own physical and emotional health. This group of peers comes together for encouragement to care for themselves and help remind themselves that it is not selfish to attend to their own needs. We provide a space to pool our collective intelligence to devise productive strategies for dealing with stress around difficult caregiving situations. We also share stories, laughter, and tears with each other.
