Can you believe we are 1/4 of the way through 2025?! We had a great month full of impact, innovation and inclusion as we continue celebrating our 100th anniversary! Take a look below at the highlights of March and check out what is upcoming in April.

ON YOUR MARK, GET SET, MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Our annual Trike Race is back and we’re kicking (or pedaling) it up a notch in 2025 as United Way of Lancaster County celebrates its 100th year!

• WHEN: Tuesday, May 7th from 3:00PM to 6:00PM

• WHERE: Greenfield Campus (1740-1770 Hempstead Rd, 17601)

Grab 4 friends, coworkers or classmates and create a team to race against the competition. We'll provide the (adult!) tricycles, so you just need to bring your team spirit! After we crown the 2025 champion, we will celebrate their victory with a tailgate that includes a DJ, food trucks, and a fun array of yard games.

You can learn more about this popular and competitive event, register your team, and discover exciting sponsorship opportunities by clicking the link below.

All proceeds from this event benefit the essential programs and services of United Way of Lancaster County. Thank you for supporting your community!

PA State Rep. Nikki Rivera Visits 211

Recently, Pennsylvania State Representative Nikki Rivera (96th District) sat down with our staff for an overview of the services 211 provides for Lancaster County and how 211 services can be of assistance to her constituents. Our team highlighted critical data on her district including top needs. We’re incredibly thankful to Rep. Nikki Rivera for taking time out of her schedule and for sharing how she can advocate for increased awareness of PA 211.

EITC Pre-K Sponsorship Partner Highlight

Una Vision (formerly Uni-Vision) Child Care, founded in 2015, is Pennsylvania’s first STAR 4 Spanish immersion early childhood education center. Champagne Domingo, the school’s director and founder, won ASSETS Great Social Enterprise Pitch in 2019 to build capacity for the school, and last year received recognition from the Biden Administration, including a visit from White House Staffers, upon receipt of $250,000 in ARPA funds for expansion.

The dual-language model is proven to improve brain development. A study by the American Councils for International Education found that dual-language immersion students outperformed their peers by 7-9 months in reading and math by the 5th grade. Ms. Domingo is very proud of the academic growth of school students – 2 children have been able to skip kindergarten completely and move to first grade after entering primary school.

A new location on 820 1st Street in Lancaster city is due to open right before the Summer and will have space for 50 students. Another center, just around the corner, will begin construction at the end of 2025 and will have the capacity to hold 100 students.

To get on the school’s waitlist visit: https://app.waitlistplus.com/Uni-VisionChildcare/Portal/Signup

By being on the waitlist, you will be one of the first to receive information on enrollment, center updates and our grand opening. You will also receive an invitation to our private Open House tour.
