THANK YOU TO VOLUNTEER CENTER SPONSOR:

Week of Caring 2024

For over 30 years, United Way of Lancaster has gathered volunteers to serve throughout Lancaster County for the annual Day of Caring. Each year, hundreds of volunteers donate their time and talents. The event, now expanded to Week of Caring, provides an opportunity for volunteer groups to connect and build long-lasting relationships with community partners!

We are currently recruiting volunteers for projects beginning Sunday, September 8 through Saturday, September 14! Gather a group of coworkers, friends, neighbors, or family members and get involved in volunteer service in our community.

Local nonprofits are looking for volunteer teams to take on a variety of projects, including outdoor cleanup, basic repairs, garden cleanup, setup and teardown for a community yard sale, clothing donation organizing, and more. For more information about Week of Caring, including details about how to register for a volunteer project, please visit the link below:

Housing Assistance

In October 2009 PA 211 East (then known as United Way LINC) was awarded a grant to create a centralized intake screening process for individuals experiencing and at-risk of homelessness in Lancaster County. Over 2,000 inquiries for assistance were fielded within the first three months of the program's inception. Today, Lancaster County continues these housing intakes with over 13,000 inquires just last year. Here’s a look back at 211's volume since 2009:

Workplace Campaigns Kicking Off our 100th Year Anniversary!

The United Way Workplace Campaign has long been the cornerstone of our impact. Last year over 70 corporations, businesses, organizations, and their employees in Lancaster County supported their communities and the causes they care about through holding a workplace campaign. It is thanks to the partnership and support of local employers and their staff members that we will soon be celebrating our 100th year of serving this great community (2025)!

If you are already partnering with us in a workplace campaign, thank you for all you have made possible! If you are interested in learning more about the benefits and how to get started, please click the link below:
