Week of Caring Highlight

This year’s Week of Caring was nothing short of extraordinary. Together, our community demonstrated the power of collaboration, compassion, and service.

By the Numbers:

• 725 volunteers rolled up their sleeves to give back.
• 31 volunteer teams contributed their time and talent.
• 63 projects were completed for local nonprofits and community partners.
• 2,175 total hours of service were dedicated to making a difference.
• The estimated value of volunteer hours reached $72,840.75

From supporting nonprofits with critical needs to creating meaningful connections with neighbors, each act of service reflected the spirit of Lancaster County—caring, united, and committed to positive change.

211's Incredible Impact

On September 3, a fire in Reading displaced more than 40 individuals. The American Red Cross and community partners, including PA 211 East, came together to support those affected. Our staff reached out to each household, offering connections to resources such as food, clothing, and financial assistance.



At a multi-agency resource center hosted by the Red Cross, our Director was on site to help families connect directly with services. This collaboration shows the strength of community partnerships in times of crisis.
