November is a time to reflect; a time to give thanks; a time to give to our neighbors in need. This is why we give a little EXTRA this month. The Lancaster County community comes together to make an impact for those who need it most; and for that, we thank you! We wish you health and happiness as you enjoy the last few weeks of the year!

Thank you for giving Extra!

Friday, November 21st was Lancaster County’s 14th annual Extraordinary Give—and what an incredible day it was! United Way team members fanned out across the County to attend over 20 events hosted by our nonprofit partners.

Thanks to over 200 generous, caring donors, we raised $30,000 to help fight food and housing insecurity and connect neighbors with the life-sustaining resources they rely on. Your compassion truly makes a difference, and we are so grateful.

Together, our community raised more than $10.3 million from 23,588 donors in support of 451 local organizations. During this holiday season—and throughout the year—we are proud and humbled to be part of such a giving, invested community.

A huge congratulations and heartfelt thank you to the Lancaster County Community Foundation for hosting another successful ExtraGive!

Maximize Your Impact This Season

As the year winds down, it’s a great time to support the causes that matter most to you—while potentially benefiting from valuable tax advantages.

A gift to United Way of Lancaster County fuels our mission and may also offer meaningful financial or estate-planning benefits. In addition to year-end giving, many donors explore planned giving options such as bequests, donor-advised funds, charitable gift annuities, stock transfers, Qualified Charitable Distributions, and charitable trusts

Please contact us at donorrelations@uwlanc.org for more information or assistance in making your gift.

A Note for Donors Who Itemize

New charitable deduction rules take effect January 1, 2026. Gifts made in 2025 may offer greater tax benefits under current IRS guidelines than gifts made next year.

Gifts made by December 31 may provide immediate tax advantages while strengthening essential programs across our community. We encourage you to consult your financial or legal advisor to determine which strategies best fit your goals. You can also find more information from AARP.

Thank you for your continued generosity and commitment to creating lasting change in Lancaster County.
