Happy Summer friends! We've had an exciting month and we're ready to share it with you in another installment of United News! Take a look below to see what United Way of Lancaster County has been up to in June and to see what is scheduled for the rest of summer 2024!

Announcing Our 2024-25 Grantees!

United Way of Lancaster County is dedicated to making widespread impact in Lancaster County. Through 8 funding opportunities, 57 grants have been awarded to 45 nonprofits. United Way of Lancaster County has committed and leveraged $2,231,398.55 of funding across the Lancaster community.

Advocating for 211

On Wednesday, June 5th PA 211 staff from across the state traveled to Harrisburg to advocate for funding for PA 211 with legislators as part of United Way of Pennsylvania’s Hill Day. Four of our 211 staff members attended, including our Information and Referral Program Supervisor who helped deliver opening remarks on the steps of the Capitol Rotunda.

Thank you, Lancaster!

The end of June wraps up our fiscal year and we are overwhelmed by the support and partnership of the Lancaster community! Over 3,000 individual and corporate donors rallied together to provide nearly $2.2 million in funding to support essential community services and programs through United Way of Lancaster County.

Thank you to all the businesses/organizations and their employees that participated in our workplace giving campaign! Workplace campaigns have been the backbone of funding for United Way throughout our history, allowing us to fill gaps and meet the changing needs of communities in Lancaster County for almost a century.

Congrats to our top 5 workplace campaigns and thank you for your support and partnership!

• Armstrong World Industry and Armstrong Foundation

• UGI Utilities

• Fulton Bank

• The Hershey Company

Legacy Listening Session

United Way of Lancaster County will be celebrating 100 years in 2025. To prepare for the next century, our team is conducting listening sessions focused on United Way's pillars: education, economic mobility, health, and volunteering. The Legacy Listening Session findings will help shape the future of our organization. This month's session focused on education, and brought together leaders from school districts, charter schools, child care centers, Pre-K programs, and education non-profits. The conversation focused on what is working and what is not in the education sector, and how we can move forward together.

We want to hear from you too! Take the survey below to make your voice heard about education in Lancaster County. The results will be used to fuel our future.
