211 Day

Nearly 200 individuals registered for the event which included a panel of 211 staff passionately explaining their day to day work and providing insight to calls they receive and a wide variety of presentations representing United Way of Lancaster County’s impact areas (Education, Health & Well-being and Economic Mobility).

Beyond Reflection

In 2021, United Way Worldwide named Angela F. Williams their new President & CEO – the 136-year-old organization’s first African American and first woman to hold the position. For 2024, the Association for the Study of African American Life and History selected a theme of “African Americans and the Arts”. Last week, Angela wrote about the importance of increasing our collective knowledge to honor our past and shared some of what she’s learned about Black artists.

Individual Cohort in Final Months

This month's Project Blueprint session was led by Salena Coachman, United Way of Lancaster County’s board member and a member of United Way's Equity Committee. The training session focused on ways to advance inclusivity and representation in boardrooms. It involved a deep dive into matters concerning diversity in the establishment and representation of boards, board culture as well as skillfully navigating through difficult conversations in board meetings.

Project Blueprint is scheduled to convene in March for its concluding training session prior to the graduation ceremony in April.
