February, the month of love and connection, is the perfect time to express heartfelt appreciation and gratitude, especially with the celebration of Valentine’s Day. At United Way of Lancaster County, we know that every act of generosity is powered by the love our donors have for their community. Their generosity fuels the programs and services we provide directly to our community — VITA, PA 211 East, Volunteer Center, Project Blueprint, One United Lancaster — and helps fund essential services provided to neighbors in need throughout Lancaster County. We are grateful for the generosity and partnership of each donor; thank you for partnering with United Way and sharing your heart with our community!

EITC Pre-K Sponsorship Partner Highlight
United Way of Lancaster County's EITC Pre-K Scholarship program benefits families around Lancaster County, providing scholarship assistance to children in financial need. Akron's Diamond Street Early Childhood Center (DSECC) is a program partner, and last year United Way awarded scholarships to several DSECC families.
DSECC has been educating young scholars since 1970. Their teaching staff serves between 90-100 students daily, with a total of 125 children enrolled. In addition to being a Keystone 4 program, they are accredited through the NAEYC (National Association Education for Young Children), a mark of excellence in the field of early childhood education. While some centers are struggling to find teaching staff to add classrooms, DSECC celebrates opening an additional infant & toddler care room to meet a critical need in the community. We are proud to partner with this exemplary center through our pre-k scholarship program!

"DSECC has provided so much support and has helped our son grow in a community setting. They are accommodating to his special needs, and he has shown so much progress this past year. Please pass on our most sincere gratitude to your donors and let them know that their generosity has made a huge difference in our family's lives."
