It's Gonna Be May, said the great NSYNC. April is almost over and we're glad you're back for another installment of United News! Take a look below to see what United Way of Lancaster County has been up to in April and to see what is scheduled for the rest of Spring! | |
211 Partners with SACA
PA 211 East has hired a Bilingual Resource Navigator who will act as a Case Manager at SACA, a local nonprofit. In this role, the Navigator will utilize the PA 211 Database to connect individuals who walk-in to this CBO to necessary services within Lancaster County. In addition as part of her role, she will assist our neighbors in Lancaster County in filling out applications for public benefits (SNAP, TANF), as well as property tax/rent rebate forms and will translate documents for those needing that service. United Way of Lancaster County (UWLanc) is thrilled to be able to continue this partnership with SACA in having an in-person resource navigator.

Celebrating Leadership Donors
On April 23rd United Way of Lancaster County held an event at the Bent Creek Country Club to celebrate our donors, whose philanthropy is leading the way for programs, services, and nonprofit organizations providing essential resources and support to communities throughout Lancaster County. The pinnacle of the event came through a compelling narrative of impact provided by Jenna Graeff, Executive Director of Loft Community Partnership — a United Way Level Up & Launch grant recipient. Jenna shared the important work they are doing to provide food, clothing, and other resources to those in need throughout the Penn Manor school district.
Other highlights of the evening included a welcome from Board Chair, Beth Riley, to kick off programming for the evening, and remarks from Kate Zimmerman, President & CEO, providing a dynamic preview of the planning and new logo for our upcoming 100th anniversary (2025).
Thank you to the event sponsor, Summit Advisory, for helping make the celebration possible!

Year-Round Tax Services, Again!
The VITA season for tax year 2023 has had an exciting ending, while we are still waiting for exact statistics, 2024 looks like a banner year with over 10,000 returns completed. All this work would not have been possible had it not been for our over 180 volunteers. But we are not finished! Beginning May 7th, our year-round clinic will be available for individuals still needing returns completed, amendments, rent/property tax rebate forms completed and consults on letters received from the IRS. To schedule an appointment, call 211.
