In this Webinar, we will address how to create a positive "home climate" to promote learning, prevent stress, and protect your children against cyberbullying during the COVID-19 outbreak. What is a "home climate"? Based on research about "school climates," a "home climate" is the safety, interpersonal relationships, teaching and learning practices, and surroundings of the home learning environment. A positive home climate is crucial for emotional and mental well-being, achievement and satisfaction.

UPC Community Cares Award

In an uncertain world, one thing we can rely on is the incredible volunteer spirit here in PVSchools. We are amazed by all the wonderful things people are doing to help their families, neighbors and communities stay safe and healthy. UPC would like to recognize those that are going above and beyond at this time.

Do you know someone that has gone out of their way to help their community? We want to hear about it! Let us know what they are doing to help out now. You can also upload photos or videos of them in action.

This award is open to students, parents, teachers and staff that show the spirit of #PVFamily.
All nominees will be recognized on the United Parent Council's Facebook page and also at the next public Governing Board meeting.

Please submit a nomination  HERE!
Geri Morgan
Postponed until fall 2020:
Geri L. Morgan
Volunteer Award

United Parent Council's Geri L. Morgan Volunteer Award honors the strong example of service shown in life by late UPC member  Geri L. Morgan. In her memory, UPC annually recognizes a consummate  volunteer who has made an outstanding  contribution of service. Often it is that passionate, devoted, yet humble volunteer who is doing amazing things that benefit the entire school community.

In order to give this award the preparation and recognition it truly deserves, UPC has decided to wait until the fall to seek nominations. At that time, we will ask for nominations for a volunteer who has gone above and beyond his or her school community. A recipient will be selected and publicly recognized at a Governing Board meeting. All nominees will receive a copy of their nomination letter.
Update:
UPC Teacher & Staff
Appreciation Award

UPC is still going to recognize the nearly 500 teachers and staff members that were nominated for this award. All nominated teachers and staff members will receive their nominations via email. We still plan to recognize all nominees at a future Governing Board meeting.
Please note important changes to meal distribution!
- Beginning Monday, April 13, hours for our meal distribution sites will change to
8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in order to help our families balance distance learning schedules.

-Based on changes from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and the Arizona Department of Education (ADE), starting Monday, April 13, families will be able to pick-up free meals without having children accompany them. Families will need to present student school-issued IDs, report cards, or answer verifying questions such as student's name, date of birth, or student ID number.
