The 2022-2023 Budget was approved via an email vote following the August General Meeting.

The 2022-2023 school year is up and running and we are working on the membership lists to make sure we have the correct contact information for UPC Reps and Parent Group Leaders at each school. Thank you to the schools that have already completed the 2022-2023 Membership Form! If your school is having a hard time finding a volunteer to be your UPC rep, please remember the UPC Monthly Meetings are hybrid. Reps can also join us online which may work better for their schedules. Click here to learn WHAT IS UPC AND HOW CAN I BE A PART OF IT?

Parent Groups should consult their bylaws to determine UPC Representative selection protocol. UPC Representation may also be selected by school site leadership (e.g., Principal). Keep in mind, you do not need to be a UPC Rep/Member to attend our monthly UPC General Meetings - these meetings are open to the public and all are welcome to join us.

After you complete the Membership Form, we will provide an invoice option to pay your Annual Membership Dues. Just select BILL ME as your payment option and a PayPal invoice will be sent directly to your school's parent group leadership (as applicable). Community Members can select this payment option too!

Questions? Contact our VP of Membership, Erica Moriarty, at membership@pvupc.org.

Following the August UPC meeting, an electronic vote was conducted to support a vote of YES on the Paradise Valley School District's Maintenance and Operations (M&O) Override election on the ballot in November. To learn more specifics about the M&O override, please read the PVUSD Fact Sheet. Voting Yes on the M&O Override is a vote to support students, small class sizes, specialty programs and extracurricular activities.

The Paradise Valley Unified School District will had five information sessions for the public to learn more about the M&O override election. Please watch the recording HERE

Please note this is a continuation of the M&O Override that was passed in 2017. Voting YES will not result in an increase in taxes.

HERE is the link for the recording of the 2022 PVUSD Governing Board Candidate Forum! All seven candidates were invited six weeks prior to the forum. This event was moderated by volunteers from The League of Women Voters and is a tradition for the PVUSD community!

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization working to protect and expand voting rights and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy. They empower voters and defend democracy through advocacy, education, and litigation, at the local, state, and national levels.

There is only one game left this season when your ticket purchase will support the UPC Outreach Committee! If you use this LINK to purchase tickets for the Cardinals vs. the New England Patriots on 12/12/22, $5 from each ticket will go to the UPC Outreach Committee. These funds will be used to help fund events like Bus Driver Appreciation, Instructional Assistant Appreciation and holiday meals for PV families. We appreciate your support!

Collection boxes are also available at Desert Shadows Middle School and Wildfire Elementary. HERE is the link to the Amazon Wish List to have items shipped directly to a collection site. Questions, please email Outreach@pvupc.org

Thank you to the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix for donating over 100 feminine hygiene kits. Those kits were distributed to 6 schools in our district.

Thank you to Delta Dental for the very generous donation of 500 toothbrushes and 500 toothpastes.

Thank you to the Pinnacle High School National Honor Society for their amazing support of the Hygiene Drive!  Their generous donations have been sorted and placed on the shelves so the Social Workers & School Nurses can get what they need.

The November UPC General Meeting will be Wednesday, November 16th beginning at 9:00 a.m. This meeting will be held both in person and via Zoom. All are welcome to attend!

We have had so many questions about campus safety and what the district is doing to keep our campuses safe. For thee November Program, we have invited Dr. Chris Asmussen, Director of Student Services Secondary, to let parents know about some of the systems that are in place to maintain safe campuses across our district.
