We have shared a little about how United Way is changing with the times, and part of that change involves the way we allocate funds. This will be a slow, deliberate process, but one big change has already occurred: the name! Instead of "fund distribution," our process is now called
Community Impact. We think that gets more to the heart of what we're doing: investing your dollars to create impact within the community.
Our first Community Impact Volunteer training was held this morning for our Lee County volunteers, and we had a really great response to the changes we have been undertaking. Our volunteers are excited about being a part of an organization that makes a real impact within our communities.
Lee County's committee is already at work, but
we still need volunteers in Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lee, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tishomingo, and Union counties.
