About United Way
United Way of Northeast Mississippi fights for the health, education, and financial stability of every person in Northeast Mississippi. 

We do this by investing in programs and initiatives that create impact in the areas of Family Stability, Academic Success, and Health and Wellness and by convening community partners to identify and address the big issues facing our communities.

We cover the 7 counties of Chickasaw, Itawamba, Lee, Pontotoc, Prentiss, Tishomingo, and Union, and funds raised here stay here to impact over 125,000 individuals each year.

Seeking nominations for the J.G. Berry Award

Each spring, United Way honors a volunteer who has made a significant commitment of time, money, and talent to our community in the likeness of Julius G. Berry, one of the founding members of Lee United Neighbors -- the predecessor of United Way of Northeast Mississippi.

If you know a United Way volunteer who deserves to be honored with this prestigious award, please nominate them today! Nominations will be considered by our committee in the next few weeks and winner selected in the spring.
VITA Tax Preparation
We are still scheduling appointments for VITA tax preparation services. The VITA program is a partnership between BancorpSouth and United Way wherein volunteers prepare tax returns at no charge for people whose household income is less than $54,000 annually.

If you tried to get an appointment before and we were booked, we have added additional appointments so give us a call back. And share this information with anyone who might benefit. Free tax prep benefits the individual who saves money on the service, and VITA volunteers are trained to help people get all of the credits and deductions to which they are entitled. Bigger refunds means more money in our local economy!
