Volunteers Needed!
In just a few days, hundreds of boxes of school supplies will arrive for us to take to our local elementary schools! All thanks to the generosity of our local community.

We would love your help sorting and repacking these supplies for delivery to each school. Please join us on Tuesday, July 23 at the former U.S. Factory Outlet store (2824 S Eason Blvd, Tupelo) to help us get organized!

You can sign up to volunteer on the Volunteer Northeast Mississippi hub: https://volunteernems.galaxydigital.com/need/detail/?need_id=438960

We are also still accepting monetary donations to cover the cost of supplies, too! Click below or visit unitedwaynems.org/b2s to donate.
Come EXCELebrate!
United Way has been proud to be involved with the Lee County Excel By 5 group since its founding in 2013, and Shelly Brooks has been part of our team leading the early childhood initiatives for a couple of years now.

And if you haven't heard, the Excel By 5 coalition has recently merged with Read First, the Tupelo/Lee County chapter of the Campaign for Grade-Level Reading, to become the Early Childhood Coalition. Now all the work being done in early education is more cohesive.

As part of Excel By 5, Tupelo/Lee County was recently re-certified as an early childhood community. Please join us at the Mall at Barnes Crossing on Saturday, July 20 to EXCELebrate! There will be games, information, and giveaways for families with children from birth to age 5.
Notice of Funding Opportunity Meetings
Mary Ann, our Director of Community Impact, will be hosting several Notice of Funding Opportunity meetings in July to help current and potential funded partners understand and navigate the new application process.

Currently funded partners can choose from several sessions which will take place in the CDF Boardroom.

New organizations (those not currently receiving a United Way grant in 2019) are invited to a special session on July 30, 2019, at the Renasant Center for Ideas. The eligibility requirements for organizations can be found at unitedwaynems.org/agencyresources

Organizations must RSVP for these sessions as seating is limited. New and returning organizations can register at unitedwaynems.org/fundingmeetings
