Congratulations Astrid Bautista from Shuford Yarns.
On Thursday, her name was pulled as a finalist in this year's Catawba County United Way Fair Share Donor Car Giveaway.
She will be one of ten finalists drawn through the next 5 weeks, having a chance to win a brand new car donated by Paramount Automotive in Hickory.
The drawings are done by RLI - CPA, Certified Public Accountants.

Save the date - Nov. 18 - Giving from the Heart Awards
It is that time again – time to recognize those outstanding volunteers who make all the difference when it comes to helping local non-profits assist those in a crisis.
The Catawba County United Way is hosting the annual Giving from the Heart Volunteer Awards on Nov. 18 to help recognize these invaluable individuals. 
The luncheon will be held at the Catawba Country Club beginning at 12 p.m.
Nominees attend free of charge (thanks to our sponsors) and additional guests may join them at a cost of $20 per person.

United Way community partner updates...
We've all heard the phrase - "It takes a village."
And in the Non-profit world that is certainly true. The Catawba County United Way enjoys the relationships it has with its community partners and sees how much greater our impact is because of all our efforts every day.
Below are some upcoming programs and events from just a few of those partners...please share.

From The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club:
Hickory Hawks Athletics is a 501(c)(3) organization committed to providing young people with the opportunity to experience competitive sports in a Christian environment with the goal of growing them as followers of Christ and as athletes.
Our target audience are homeschool, private and other school students, of youth, middle and high school age, who would not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in team sports or would prefer to compete with others who share their Christian world view.
