"Stamp Out Hunger" Food Drive
|
The Letter Carriers' Stamp Out Hunger®
Food Drive is the outgrowth of the National Association of Letter Carriers' tradition of community service, a tradition exhibited repeatedly by members of the letter carriers' union over the years.
From Alaska to Florida, from Maine to Hawaii, letter carriers do double duty on Food Drive Day-delivering mail and picking up donations.
Put your non-perishable food items in your mailbox on Saturday, May 12 and your letter carrier will collect it and donate it to a LOCAL charity.
It's that easy!

Annual Day of Thanks
United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area held its annual Day of Thanks on Wednesday, March 14. This year we said, "Our community is oh so lucky to have supporters like you!" to individuals and organizations, thanking them for their overall dedication to bettering our community by supporting United Way's annual campaign.
On Day of Thanks, United Way staff, board of directors, and volunteers put fundraising efforts on pause to participate in a multi-pronged push to say "thank you" to as many people as possible with phone calls, emails, postcards, and personal visits to organizations involved in 2017 workplace campaigns.

2-1-1 Mid-York
Thanks
Senator
Griffo
United Way of the Valley & Greater Utica Area volunteers and staff gathered to thank Senator Joseph Griffo for his work securing funding for 2-1-1 NYS. Senator Griffo led his Senate colleagues, gathering signatures to include 2-1-1 funding in the NYS Senate's one-house budget proposal.
The final 2017-2018 state budget included $1.25 million for the statewide, confidential, 24/7 information and referral service that connects people to health and human services. In 2017, through 2 million calls and 18.6 million website visits of its searchable database, 2-1-1 continued to connect New Yorkers to much needed services.
Thank you Senator Griffo for helping to ensure that 2-1-1 continues to provide this critically important service to throughout our state.
