United Way Summer Book Giveaway

We are so thankful for our continued partnership with the United Way! The Summer Book Giveaway was a huge success. The students loved getting books to add to their at-home library. They were amazed when they were told that they had the opportunity to pick out ten books to take home! We are so grateful to the United Way for giving the students this opportunity!

JCSD STEAM Camp Update

Our students had a blast creating obstacle courses with Mbot robots! Students had to code the robots to go travel through the obstacle course!

They also played baseball in the gym to correlate with our theme of "Take me out to the ball game!" Students worked on team-building skills and creating cheers as they cheered their teammates on!

Campers also created their own instruments in our musical magic class and worked in pairs to create songs using their newly designed instruments!

JCSD Administrators Attend SCASA

Each summer, school district administrators from across South Carolina gather at the South Carolina Association of School Administrators (SCASA) annual conference, 'Innovative Ideas Institute.' There, SC administrators share ideas and show how they innovate when solving the problems that their districts face.

JCSD administrators, Paige Elmore, Director of Special Services and Dawn Thayer, District ML, GT, and Title III Coordinator, shared a presentation titled, 'Collaboration is Key Within Special Services.' Our district Math Recovery Specialist, Tenika Evans, hosted a session titled, 'One Size Doesn't Fit All.'

Our principals, assistant principals and district directors took the opportunity to attend sessions providing information that will help drive innovation within Jasper County.
