United Way News
The 9th Annual Walk for Warmth sponsored by MCS Bank, Roy E. Berrier & Son, and Snedeker Energy in partnership with the United Way of Mifflin-Juniata and Mifflin-Juniata Human Services, was held on Saturday, February 2nd at Kish Park. A total of 50 people endured the below freezing temperatures to help raise $6,000 for the Mifflin-Juniata Energy Bank.

Often, individuals are forced to make decisions about paying rent on time or paying heating costs. Donations this year will allow Energy Bank recipients to access funds to assist with either of these issues.

Thank you to all who contributed to this great cause!

Upcoming Partner Events
February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month!

The Abuse Network is partnering with schools in the three counties they serve, to raise awareness about Teen Dating Violence by having students sign the Healthy Relationships and Violence Prevention Pledge. By reaching out to teens, The Abuse Network is promoting healthy relationships and bystander intervention skills to interrupt sexual violence, oppression, violence, and unhealthy behaviors.

Join the Abuse Network in supporting Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month by wearing orange on Tuesday, February 12th.

Every day, ordinary people make extraordinary contributions by putting their needs aside to help others. The American Red Cross of Mid Central PA is seeking nominations for area individuals who prove that not all heroes wear capes, people whose act of heroism has gone above and beyond the call of duty and who exemplify the values held in our Red Cross Mission.
