Local United Ways "Stuff the Bus" with Supplies for Back-to-School

Back-to-school time is here and as our children are starting back, local United Ways across Pennsylvania are making sure they have the supplies they need for a successful school year.  You may have heard of your local United Way holding a 'Stuff the Bus' event or may have even participated yourself.  It is a great way for the community to come together and give back to kids in need of school supplies to help foster their learning.

Check out how some United Ways helped their communities by organizing a 'Stuff the Bus' event:

September is National Family Meals Month
This September it is National Family Meals Month and  families across the country are challenged to share one more meal at home per week using items purchased from the grocery store.

This educational program is put on by the FMI Foundation, which supports the role of food retailing and focuses on research and education in the areas of food safety, nutrition and health.
Family meals eaten at home have been proven to benefit the health and wellness of children and adolescents, to fight obesity, substance abuse,  and to make families stronger: creating a positive impact on our communities and our nation as a whole.
You can learn more about the initiative here.
