Changes Are Coming for the

Free Application for Student Aid (FAFSA) in 2023

The 2024-25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is undergoing major alterations in attempts to streamline and simplify the filing process for students. The application, which typically opens in October, is anticipated to debut in December 2023.

The changes to the FAFSA include a general design update and the introduction of the Student Aid Index (SAI), in place of the Expected Family Contribution (EFC), to determine federal aid eligibility more accurately. The new FAFSA will also require all contributors (individuals whose information appears on the application) to obtain a Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID and will require all contributors wishing to utilize the IRS data retrieval tool to provide consent and approval.

Stay tuned for additional information and resources about the 2024-25 FAFSA application. For an in-depth look at all changes expected to occur, please click the link below.

September 19th is National Voter Registration Day

Each year in the United States, millions of eligible voters find themselves unable to vote because of easily prevented issues like missing a registration deadline, forgetting to update their registration after a name change, moving, or simply because they aren’t sure how to register.

National Voter Registration Day was created in 2012 to help address such issues by serving as a nationwide nonpartisan rallying point to promote voter registration and help eligible voters across the country get #VoteReady to participate in our shared democracy.

Since 2012, more than 5 million citizens have registered to vote on the annual holiday.
