On September 29, 2023, United Way of Thurston County brought our community together for the 30th annual Day of Caring, and the results were nothing short of astounding! This day of volunteerism has been a beacon of hope, unity, and change in Thurston County for three decades, and it's all thanks to YOU.

In just one morning, we brought together 17 volunteer groups, rallied over 160 dedicated volunteers, activated 15 sites of service, and collectively contributed more than 500 hours of community goodness.
"The day of caring was such a wonderful experience; I could not believe all the amazing work the volunteers accomplished. I love sharing the Quixote model with others in my community. So many residents came into the kitchen and told us how warm and open it felt after the cleaning.

Thank you for all you have done for us; it truly made a difference."

This event is a powerful reminder of what's possible when we come together, united by a common goal - to improve our neighbors' lives and strengthen our community.

A HUGE shoutout and heartfelt thank you to our incredible teams of volunteers, sponsors, donors, and the entire Thurston County community for making this day a resounding success. Your dedication, hard work, and passion truly made a difference in the lives of those who rely on the support of our local human service organizations.

We'd also like to express our gratitude to our generous sponsors, whose support has been instrumental in making this event possible. Your commitment to our community is unwavering; we couldn't do it without you.

At O Bee Credit Union, community isn't just a buzzword; it's a way of life. This was evident on the 29th of September when O Bee Credit Union's employees enthusiastically participated in our 2023 Day of Caring. Not only did they lend their time and energy, but they also generously sponsored the event, further amplifying their commitment to fostering positive change in their community.
We sat down and talked with O Bee about their involvement in Day of Caring. Our conversation is below. Enjoy!
