United Women in Faith Annual Meeting

Join us to experience the love and support of a great group of Christian women. To find a group that meets your needs, contact Karen Reynolds. All Circles will hold their September meetings and then we’ll have fellowship and a light supper followed by a meeting to approve the 2023 budget and slate of officers and induct new members.

UWF Ingathering Project Due by October 15

St. Paul's United Women in Faith is collecting feminine hygiene products to be given to local missions. Please bring your donations to the Annual Meeting. Please make checks to UWF.

Help Wanted

Temporary Audio/Visual Technician

Immediate opening for an Audio/Visual Technician to support worship on Sunday morning and rehearsals on Saturday. Applicant will also be responsible for creating slides and other visuals as required. This is a paid position working up to eight hours weekly. Additional hours in September to support our theatre programming. Please contact Rachel Henry for more information.

Everyone is invited to be part of this warm and welcoming group as we study A New Kind of Christianity-Ten Questions That Are Transforming the Faith by Brian McLaren. Explore whether the church is in sync with our deepest beliefs and commitments, how we might articulate our faith, what is the good news the gospel proclaims, how should we think about people of other faiths and more. Kick the Ball, Charlie Brown! After worship on September 18, we will take over St. Paul’s North Lawn and kick-off Fall with an outdoor event that will include food, music, bounce houses, ice cream, cider, donuts, a mission opportunity, lots of fun!

 

Rev. Dulworth will focus his message on the gospel as taught through the comics of Charles M. Schulz and Peanuts. Please mark your calendar and join us for this very exciting celebration. In case of inclement weather, the event will be held in Hickey Hall.

The Missions Team and HUGS Mom’s Group are supporting Blessings in a Backpack. This Rochester Community Schools program supports students with weekend snacks/supplements. Please donate the following items:

• Peanut butter/jelly 12 - 16 oz. in plastic jars

• Fruit breakfast bars (any type)

• Single serving cereals

• Single serving fruit cups

• Knorr Pasta Sides (Alfredo, Butter & Herb, Cheddar 

  Broccoli, Butter)

• Canned chicken breast (small cans, any brand)

Blood Drive

The need for blood is great all year long, but in the summer the need is much greater than the supply. What better gift to give someone than the gift of life. Young Adult Discernment in Christian Tradition Retreat

October 21-22 in Greater Lansing Area

Led by Rev. Dr. April Gutierrez and Rev. Lisa Batten (MI Conference Staff)

Registration Info The retreat and cohort are open to any young adult, age 20-30 years old interested in attending. There is no cost to participants.

Following the retreat, participants are invited to join a monthly discernment cohort on Zoom (invited to the cohort but not required to attend the retreat). You can also receive monthly coaching or spiritual direction. The retreat and cohort are centered on recent graduates, those in post grad fellowship programs, those doing internships/student teaching, in grad school, and/or working full time.
