United For Southern Arizona
COVID-19 Fund Community Impact
As the pandemic stretches on, now more than ever before our community's big challenges call for big solutions. In the face of these challenges, your United Way continues to provide emergency funding for community members through the United for Southern Arizona COVID-19 Fund. Funds raised are used to help local individuals and families in crisis due to COVID-19. This week as you read the stories below, remember that Tucson needs you to GIVE BIG and GIVE UNITED.
Community Story Update
Each week we select a story from a member of the community being directly impacted by the United for Southern Arizona COVID-19 Fund.
Old Pueblo Community Services:

“Our team is working with a disabled Veteran who is unable to walk and living with Brain Blast Syndrome and PTSD. She applied for VA Service-Connected Disability Compensation, but her application is still in the review stage. She is unemployed but working to get her commercial driver’s license and searching for a job. Right now, she is in the process of waiting – for the benefits to come through, for her training program to finish, and for a new job to start. Money from the United for Southern Arizona COVID-19 Fund allowed us to help her pay rent for March and avoid eviction. We look forward to supporting her with her next steps.”
