United For Southern Arizona
COVID-19 Fund Community Impact
As the pandemic stretches on, now more than ever before our community's big challenges call for big solutions. In the face of these challenges, your United Way continues to provide emergency funding for community members through the United for Southern Arizona COVID-19 Fund. Funds raised are used to help local individuals and families in crisis due to COVID-19. This week as you read the stories below, remember that Tucson needs you to GIVE BIG and GIVE UNITED.
Community Story Update
Each week we select a story from a member of the community being directly impacted by the United for Southern Arizona COVID-19 Fund.
International Rescue Committee:

“A single mom with a young child arrived in the US last October, coming directly to Phoenix. Being a single mother with a young child, and navigating a pandemic, she faced many challenges in Phoenix. After a few months, she decided to move to Tucson to be closer to friends who can help with her baby while she looks for a job and starts working. Since her move, she has been registered with the IRC in Tucson. Our team found housing for her and was able to assist with part of her move-in costs. The United for Southern Arizona COVID-19 fund will cover some remaining housing expenses so she can get off to a safe start on her new life in Tucson.”
