“It is truly an honor for Unity College to be recognized as an institution committed to learners who are part of the military community,” said
Unity College President Dr. Melik Peter Khoury
. “At Unity College, we take pride in ensuring those who have served are given the tools they need to be successful, whether they’re receiving online credentialing, spending four years at our flagship campus, or serving overseas while working to earn their bachelor’s or master’s degree online.”

The Dorr Foundation, The William P. Wharton Trust, the Davis Conservation Foundation, the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden, and the Wildlife Division of the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, which has also served as a partner in the research, are supporting the project this year through grants totaling nearly $47,000. “It is truly humbling and an honor to receive these grants and to know that these organizations are taking note of the important work that Dr. Chatfield and his students are conducting at Unity College,” said
Unity College President Dr. Melik Peter Khoury

In any corporate event, the experience matters just as much as the work and relaxation to be done. And nowhere in Maine offers an ambiance quite like
Sky Lodge
. Groups seeking a Western retreat experience—without the often-high price tag—can satisfy both desires at Sky Lodge. Unity College President Melik Khoury says, "If you look at pricing of similar places in Wyoming and Montana, for example, we are about half the price.”

For nearly 40 years The Maine Warden Service K-9 program has been assisting wardens with search and rescue missions and conservation law enforcement. To keep the K9s in shape and ready for emergency situations, they participate in hours of training. “Anything with a dog with a lot of drive and a lot of confidence, you can teach them just about anything. Everything is a game,” said Corporal Lucas Bellanceau of the Maine Warden Service.

Congratulations to Maine Game Warden Dave Ross, who was named the 2019 Conservation Officer of the Year by the National Wildlife Turkey Federation. Warden Ross was honored for his ability to put a case together and apprehend the intentional fish and game violator to protect Maine’s natural resources, as well as his dedication to supporting landowners who have kept their land open for hunting.
