March Transition Journey Update

Sue Carlson, President of the Board of Trustees
In January many of us attended the workshop called Growing Through Change facilitated by Rev. Greg Coles. We agreed that we don't have all the answers but we are willing to learn. This article is a learning opportunity to know our options for a Minister. Unity Worldwide Ministries ( UWM) requires that its member ministries employ Unity Ministers. A Unity Minister is a skilled professional trained in Unity teachings, and the essential elements of thriving ministry. During the workshop weekend Rev. Greg Coles shared with the Board of Trustees the three options available to us.
#1 - We hire a Unity Minister either full or part-time.
If a UWM member ministry is unable to employ a Unity  Minister, it may retain its  membership by obtaining  permission from UWM to temporarily employ  a Licensed Unity Teacher ( LUT) or an individual without Unity credentials. This  authorization is called Special Dispensation. Options #2 and #3.
#2 - We hire a Spiritual Leader.

This is a licensed or ordained minister who has served in  another denomination. He/she would receive special dispensation from UWM and  become credentialed in Unity. He/she would be set up with a mentor in the field.
#3 - We hire a Ministry Coordinator.

He/she would be on a path to Unity credentialing.  He/she would be set up with a mentor in the field.
As we travel this period of transition we listen to Spirit to lead us to the right and perfect outcome. Are we as a Unity community ready to begin our search for a Minister? Share your thoughts with the members of the Board of Trustees.

Prayer Partner Newsletter Update 2/25/2020

Current active prayer partners: Marion Standard, Kathy Boone, Jan Swanson, Sandi Anderson, Jeannine Colburn

Thank you all for allowing the prayer partners to be a part of this vibrant Spiritual community. We are working on the prayer lists - meaning the people that receive a monthly call from one of the prayer partners. If you are receiving a call, and no long wish to receive that call, please notify Timothy at 715-836-0010 at the Unity Office or e-mail at unityeauclaire@gmail.com. And if you would like to be receiving a monthly phone call, and are not, please notify Timothy about that as well.

Being able to be a prayer partner has been a wonderful spiritual growth experience for me. Growing up in the Lutheran faith, a lot of canned prayers were used, and these are beautiful, but I would feel inadequate about saying my own prayer, because I had a fear that it wouldn't be good enough. We would like to dispel that fear in any of you by possibly having small, informal gatherings just to talk about affirmative and do some practicing. If you would be interested in something like this, please contact one of the prayer partners.

How do I say this tactfully? But us five ladies all have aged like beautiful Wisconsin cheese, but we need some new, younger blood, like squeaky cheese curds. We are meeting with Rev. Ray Nelson on Sunday March 15th after the service. The meeting will be in the classroom and the goal is to learn how we can expand this service. Please give prayerful consideration to joining this prayer training, whenever it may happen. It has been a beautiful spiritual experience to be a part of this sacred service.

Respectfully submitted,

Jeannine Colburn

Rev. Ray's Thoughts on the Abundance Class:

I affirm my thinking is open and my awareness of the infinite potential and abundance of the universe is available to me now and every moment.
These are the first steps of a life long journey opening to the limitless possibilities.
One thing I will ask is not what you want to do? I will not ask what do you want? These questions, for me, are mired in the thoughts of past experiences and the ego. Instead, I will ask what would you love. Without the considerations, doubts, and fears what would you love to have and be? What experiences of life would you love to create?
I will ask you to pray and think deeply about your vision, unencumbered by the conditions of the past, and breath into that possibility.
I will ask you to stretch, and play, and be willing to make mistakes and try again. I will ask to use this time to experiment with a new way of thinking and being and have fun.

There is still time to sign up for the class, but you only have until Wednesday noon to make it happen. You will see the flyer in the newsletter. Contact the center's office to get on the list.

CVTC Marketing Students

Four students from John Kleven's marketing research class are doing a project for us. They are looking at all areas of our marketing and will come back with recommendations in a couple months. One focus is the branding program from Unity International which will help us with our image. Stay tuned for more details as this project progresses.

The Rental Agreements and fees for our building and our wedding Peace Garden have been revised as of March 1st, 2020.  The updated forms are available in the office and will be on our website soon.  Please see Timothy for an updated contract if you rent on a regular basis.

Healing Space

N ew Offering for Spiritual Growth

Creating a "Healing Space" is modeled after Myrtle Filmore and her approach to healing - that all healing comes from Spirit. To quote Myrtle: "Sometimes we pray to a God outside of ourselves. It is the God in the midst of us that frees and heals. You need to think of God, the all-powerful Healer, as being already within you, in every part of your mind, heart and body." Elizabeth Gerard, Jeannine Colburn and David Gerard will be helping to facilitate this concept. Our intention is that people learn to become their own healing facilitator, just like Myrtle. This will be a quiet, introspective time. Please come and experience this healing space with us. We are currently scheduling this time on the 4th Monday of the month at 6:30 pm. There will be a love offering.

The Power for March is "Wisdom"

Affirmation:  I am guided by divine wisdom in every thought, word and action.

Wisdom- The ability to evaluate, discern, apply what you know.

The disciple, James, son of Zebedee.

The corresponding color is yellow and the location is the pit of the stomach.

Let Your Light Shine
By Winifred Wilkinson Hausmann

One of the faculties most prized by Jesus was the gift of wisdom, or spiritual judgment. ... Always he pointed to the importance of judging by the standards of the higher Self, rather than by the example set in the world. Never did he react to any person or any situation with the expected response of human living. Always he acted and spoke from the light within himself, the light that enabled him to judge by spiritual methods, to answer from divine insight into the motives of others, the potentiality of good and the revelation of the Christ within.

His judgment and his wisdom went far beyond the perception, knowledge and judgment of even the most learned men of the day, because his faculty of knowing was developed by a conscious acquaintance with the Source and a desire to express the wisdom of Spirit. He never drew conclusions simply from intellectual knowledge.

As we follow Jesus in developing our God-given potential, we, too, must learn to "judge with right judgment" and to turn to the inner spiritual knowing. We cannot afford to allow ourselves to be caught up in judging according to appearances, making decisions based simply on intellectual knowledge, or accepting limiting concepts constantly presented to us by the worldly viewpoint. ...

The center that is associated with the faculty of wisdom is located in the pit of the stomach and is closely allied with the solar plexus, the area behind the heart and stomach which is sometimes referred to as the "body brain." ... Unloving, critical thoughts react particularly on the wisdom center at the pit of the stomach and may result in such ailments as ulcers, indigestion or other difficulties of the stomach area and heart.
On the other hand, when we learn to exercise the faculty of judgment in the inner illumination by Spirit, we will automatically be expressing a greater degree of physical health.

While it is important to remember that we are to develop all the Twelve Powers, there are certain powers which are most closely allied with the Christ in your development. One of these is the faculty of wisdom or judgment, represented by James, the son of Zebedee.

The three disciples who were with Jesus on particularly significant occasions in his life were Peter, representing faith, and the brothers James and John, standing for wisdom and love. Faith, wisdom and love must be brought into everything you do. Wisdom without love is cold. But love without wisdom is misguided and impetuous. ...

Wisdom, the highest form of spiritual knowing, includes divine judgment, discrimination, intuition and other activities of mind that come under the heading of pure knowing. Wisdom is not dependent on reasoning, intellectual understanding or deduction. It simply shines as the light from within that illumines the way and reveals whatever needs to be shown at a particular time.

Our purpose in developing this faculty is to let the light of Spirit shine through us, directing all our thoughts, words, actions and motivations. Wisdom must also be employed in directing the activities and unfoldment of the other 11 qualities.
