One moment that especially touched me was the creation of our “living cross”—a tradition we began 3 years ago as UWSC was beginning its own transition. As each person placed sprays of flowers on the empty cross, it became an expression of who we are together—a community of hearts and spirits joined in the example of love that Christ offered as our wayshower.
Easter reminds us of renewal—but also of the truth that there is no Easter Sunday without Good Friday. Transformation often asks us to release what no longer serves us—old patterns, relationships, or ways of being that feel familiar, even if they are no longer aligned with our highest good. That letting go can be uncomfortable. And yet, it is through that release that new life emerges.
Whether those transitions are personal or collective, I find deep peace in knowing we do not walk through them alone. A community rooted in love makes all the difference. I am so grateful that UWSC is that space—for me, and for all of us.
I invite you to join me in holding this spirit as we move forward, embracing the timeless words of St. Francis of Assisi:
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace:
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy.
O divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console,
to be understood as to understand,
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Namaste,
