Message from the Ministers

Affirmation: I enrich my awareness of God in the Silence.

The tiny hummingbird works quietly but with purpose, darting from flower to flower, gathering nectar for its own nourishment, and pollinating flowers as it goes. When the atmosphere is still and the hummingbird close, the gentle hum from its fast-beating wings can be heard.

I experience a gentleness and purpose when I take time to be aware of the Creator of all life. I embrace the Silence and concentrate on the still, small voice within me. Nearer than my breath, Spirit nourishes me. I receive as I linger to quiet reflection of who I am: a creation of the Creator.

Wherever I am at the moment of embracing the presence of God, I am in a holy place.

Need your help!

Sandy Fetter's 2 great-grandsons lost their mother in a tragic car accident July 19th. To help with any expenses, we are collecting money for this family for the next few weeks in the fellowship room.

We invite you to continue to hold Sandy and her family in your prayers.

Our First Tuesday Prayer, Meditation, & Healing Service is this Tuesday August 2.

One of our ritual stations honors our ancestors. This week we continue with the Native prayers for the Earth.

One of our ritual stations honors our ancestors. This is the Native Prayers for the Earth that you find there.

         Creator, It is I.

   Thank you for today’s sunrise,

For the breath and life within me,

And for all of your creations.

Creator, Hear my prayer, and

    Honor my prayer.

Spirit Keeper of the West, Brown Bear, Be with me.

Bring healing to the people I love and to myself.

Bring into balance the physical, mental and spiritual,

so I am able to know my place on this earth,

                     In life and in death.

Heal my body, heal my mind and

Bring light, joy and awareness to my spirit.

Spirit Keeper of the North, White Buffalo, Be with me.

As each day passes, help me to surrender,

With grace, the things of my youth.

Help me to listen to the quiet, and

Find serenity and comfort in the silences

             As they become longer.

Give me wisdom so I am able to make

Wise choices in all things which are

             Put in front of me.

And when time for my change of worlds has come,

Let me go peacefully, without regrets, for the things I neglected

To do as I walked along my path.

To be continued…

About Prosperity…

Love that is hoarded molds at last,

   Until we know, some day,

The only thing we ever have

   Is what we give away.

And kindness that is never used,

   But is hidden all alone,

Will slowly harden till it is

    As hard as any stone.

It is the things we always hold

   That we shall lose some day;

The only thing we ever keep

Are what we give away…. Selected.

Unity’s main approach to biblical study is metaphysical. In other words, we look for the spiritual meaning underlying everything. In doing so, we see the people, places, and events mentioned in the Bible as representative of an idea or a state of consciousness. But it’s not the only way that we can experience The Divine in these blessed scriptures. Meeting scripture prayerfully and with an open heart and curious mind, we can receive whatever we need for our spiritual growth that is already prepared for us in Spirit.

This Sunday Rev. Denise will continue our So the Bible Tells Me So series with a message titled Couples Therapy

Chaplains Corner

Daily Prayer Pattern #4

The 4th Daily Prayer Pattern is to speak and act as if it is already done.

Whether we realize it or not, all our words and acts are connected with the creative source and are, therefore, creative. Our thoughts and words form who we are and what happens in our lives.

If, for instance, we wish to have positive relationships with all persons in our lives, we need to speak and act as if we already have such relationships—to speak positively to and about even the most apparently difficult individuals; to treat them with the consideration with which we want them to treat us; to praise them for the good they do; and, above all, to silently affirm that they are wise and kind.

Sometimes we hear ourselves talking negatively about a person or situation. At that moment push the rewind button and reframe those thoughts or words. For example, instead of saying “I’m exhausted.” try “I just need to rest.” Or instead of “I always forget.” try “I’ll set a reminder.”

Our words are extremely powerful!

Dear Friends,

I want to let you know that as of September 11, 2022, I will be retiring from my role as minister at Unity Williamsburg Spiritual Center. I have been feeling for a while that Spirit is leading me to new ways of serving in the Unity Movement and as you know, we are always invited to take the leap of faith and follow our hearts.

I have been blessed beyond measure to serve once again with all of you! I know that Rev. Denise will continue the legacy of Rev. Jan through her presence and vibrant way of serving this spiritual community with all of you.

I leave you with unmeasurable peace, joy, and love, Rev. Ginny Roll

Calling All Angels

We need angels in all areas of our Spiritual Center. How about being a greeter? How about helping with hospitality? How about helping with opening our building for workers? Search your heart and allow Spirit to guide you into your area of service.

We are so grateful for each one of you!

When the potential of inclement weather heads our way we want to let you know how to stay informed of potential impacts to our Sunday Services. If Sunday Services will be cancelled, we will share that information by 8 AM on Sunday on our Facebook page and in an email to all those who receive our weekly newsletter. If you know of congregation members who attend in person services but do not have internet access, please let us know so that we can arrange an alternate way to contact them directly.
