Understanding Your Soul
Do you know who you truly are? You have been told that you are a spiritual being temporarily residing in a physical body. But do you fully comprehend what this means? What is a spiritual being? What is a spiritual entity? Has this ever been fully explained?
It is difficult, when you are incarnated into a physical body, to be able to understand the spiritual. Your lives are filled with physical responsibilities, relationships, and duties. These can consume your energy and your attention. This is a normal and even necessary part of your existence. You have incarnated into your current life for a reason. You have lessons to be learned and lessons to teach. Your spirit has decided to expand its energy by facing the challenges of your physical life. Everything that comes before you has a purpose. Everything that comes before you offers the opportunity to expand your energy or to contract it. All that you do exists for this purpose.
You may ask, “How do I expand my energy?” There is a simple answer to this: love. Love is the only thing that matters. When you approach your life from a place of love, kindness, and inclusion, then peace and joy follow. When you approach your life from a place of love, all that follows will expand your spiritual energy. When you allow fear, judgment, anger, or hatred to enter your life, your energy will contract and your life’s purpose will be unfulfilled.
It may appear that the recent shifts have caused negative emotions like hatred, fear, anger, and judgment to become more prevalent … But these are not new emotions. They have merely been hidden under the surface. It is necessary for them to become visible for them to be eradicated.
You are being challenged to live a spiritual life in the face of physical chaos. How brave your soul is to have agreed to be part of this transition. How brave your soul is to have agreed to show love in the midst of such chaos. For that is exactly what you are called to do. You are called by your own soul. Will you answer this call?

On Sunday, our own Don Winkler will be our guest speaker. Don was a member of Unity in Hawaii and Tennessee for many years before moving to Virginia with his wife last year. Don is a member of our prayer chaplain team, a greeter and platform assistant, and one of our newest board members. Don will share his talk, "Follow Your Yellow Brick Road". He explains, "Using a meta-physical interpretation of the legendary Wizard of Oz movie, the Sunday message will focus on our ability to recognize and utilize our internal strengths to overcome obstacles and envisioning an even greater future to experience."
Please join us on Sunday for this inspiring talk!
Platform Assistant: Bob Osmon
Chaplain: Amy Shao

Kalunyahawi’s message on Sunday was a beautiful reminder that grounding ourselves and reconnecting with Mother Earth does not need to be complicated. What it does require is intention — making space to step away from the constant noise and demands of daily life long enough to listen to our souls and reconnect with the sacredness of creation around us. Her follow-up workshop this Saturday will offer practical ways to cultivate that connection in everyday life, and we are deeply grateful that all proceeds from the workshop are being donated to UWSC.
Our Board meeting was productive and encouraging. We are excited to share that James Posada has agreed to lead our new Buildings & Grounds Committee, bringing with him valuable professional experience in construction and contracting. We also made meaningful progress on formalizing rental agreements for community members and outside groups using our space. In addition, UWSC is in the process of transitioning to a new internet service provider that will provide significantly faster speeds while reducing our monthly cost by nearly 30%. The Board remains committed to being thoughtful stewards of both our finances and our physical space.
Following our Board meeting, the community organization Common Ground hosted a workshop on Domestic Violence at UWSC. Eighteen participants gathered to learn about the important work being done locally and across Virginia to support those impacted by domestic violence, especially in light of increasing needs and reductions in federal funding and grants. Supplies collected during the event will benefit those supported by Avalon. We are proud that UWSC can provide a welcoming space for conversations, education, and compassionate action that support healing and understanding in our local community and beyond.
Namaste,
