WEEKLY UPDATE November 16, 2021
Message from the Ministers

Affirmation: In everything, I give thanks.

I give thanks that this is a new day. I will fill it with love, joy, and service. I give thanks for the infinite wisdom that is guiding and directing me in all that I think, do, and say. I seek the spirit of wisdom within, and my path is made clear.

I give thanks for my understanding of spiritual truths. I faithfully practice what I know, and my understanding grows and increases. I am grateful for my radiant health, strength, and vitality. I am blessed with prosperity that streams toward me from every direction. I give thanks for my daily work. I enfold each task with thoughts of love, order and perfection.

I give thanks that I am a channel for blessings - a radiating center of divine love.

This Sunday our dear friend, Donna Drozda, joins us again to share wisdom from the Buddhist tradition. Her message this week is titled “A Grateful Open Heart.” She will, also, be leading us in meditation.  She always has an inspiring message and we are so grateful and blessed when she visits UWSC.

Do you remember the song "Prosperity Now?" This is such a fun song to sing and it places us in the joy of infinite Prosperity!

Sow the seeds of unity;
Grow in love and there will be
Prosperity, Prosperity, Prosperity now!
God is wisdom, life, and health;
We are heirs to all His wealth.
Prosperity, Prosperity, Prosperity now!

We are a prosperous spiritual community and it is
because of YOU!

Gratitude... goes beyond the "mine" and "thine" and claims the truth that all of life is a pure gift. In the past I always thought of gratitude as a spontaneous response to the awareness of gifts received, but now I realize that gratitude can also be lived as a discipline. The discipline of gratitude is the explicit effort to acknowledge that all I am and have is given to me as a gift of love, a gift to be celebrated with joy. Henri J.M. Nouwen

Abundant Living

Do you believe that your life is abundant? You should because abundance surrounds you. Follow your inner urge to claim and experience all that life has to offer. Each day is an opportunity to move forward to become, experience and achieve more than ever. Your mind is fertile with divine, creative ideas. You are surrounded by infinite love and wisdom.
Now's the time to bring this prosperity consciousness into your day-to-day living. As you do, remember these timely suggestions by Eric Butterworth:
  • Make a commitment to get yourself and keep yourself in the positive stream of life.
  • Refuse to indulge in casual conversation about the bad economy, the high cost of living or about anything you really do not want to say “yes” to.
  • Eliminate such thoughts as “I can't,” “I'm afraid,” and “There is not enough” from your consciousness.
  • Talk only about the things you want to see live and grow.
  • Keep your thoughts centered in the ideas of abundance, sufficiency and well-being.
  • Occasionally give yourself a consciousness booster by affirming something like: God is my instant, constant and abundant source of supply.
Remember, you are one with God—the source of all.

Unity, Then and Now

Charles and Myrtle Fillmore created Unity almost by accident because they were trying to heal their bodies Both had experienced lifelong health issues in an era when medicine was primitive, so doctors had not helped them. As they explored metaphysical methods of healing—that is, beyond the physical—they discovered what were then new discoveries about the power of mind over body.

In years of devoted meditation, they both experienced significant physical healing but also awakened to a spiritual plane where they recognized the innate power in every human being.

They shared their new understanding not through a church, which came later, but through magazines in which they wrote about what they were learning and encouraged others to explore for themselves. Unity Magazine and Daily Word are still published today with global circulation.

They also suggested that all their magazine subscribers pray together at a certain time each evening, and they began to answer prayer requests by letter. This quickly grew into a prayer ministry now called Silent Unity®, which responds by letter, phone, email, and text to 1.4 million prayer requests a year.

The Fillmore’s taught others to share the same messages, and those teachers in turn created new learning circles that now number about 1,000 churches, centers, and study groups around the world

Hello Unity Williamsburg Spiritual Center Members,

As your Board President, it is decision time relative to increasing our financial support of our church. The request made last month to Atlantic Union Bank was rejected because in 2020 our monthly income did not exceed our expenses. The bank will re-consider our reduced mortgage monthly payments if 2021 balance sheet shows a significant improvement compared to 2020. Timewise, we have until December 31, 2021 (2.5 months) to make this happen.
To end the year on a positive note, I invite you to prayerfully consider a 50% increase in your tithe. This would be a wonderful gift to our Spiritual Center, however, any increase would be a blessing and greatly appreciated.

God Bless and thank you in advance for your continued support.

Calling All Angels

What a wonderful time we had at the Holistic Wellness Expo! We met lots of people as they stopped by our table to find out about Unity. We also met many of the vendors that offered a variety of ways to stay healthy in mind, body, and spirit.

We’d like to thank Amy, Jane, and Steve for volunteering your time and presence at this event! It was fun talking about Unity and being with each of you as you represented Unity Williamsburg Spiritual Center!

Also, a shout out of gratitude to Sandy! Every Sunday she sets up our food to share during fellowship and makes sure everything is put away after we enjoy our time together. If you would like to help with hospitality, please see Sandy.
