WEEKLY UPDATE November 4, 2025

 Majority for Good

HAVE YOU voted lately? Perhaps you have not actually punched the keys on a voting machine, but you have voted. Every day is election day, a day when you cast your personal ballot to determine how you will live this twenty-four hours.

Each person is given a choice of how he will spend his day, and he elects one way or the other. If some obstacle confronts you that you have seemed unable to move, choose to let God help you. A method and manner of removing the obstacle will be revealed.

God and you constitute a righteous majority for good. The strength of a nation is in its governmental center, in how its people choose. The strength of an individual lies in his acknowledgment of God's presence at the center of his being.

Elect the good things this day, and you will attract them. Cast your vote with God, and you will overcome all opposition because God and you constitute a majority for good.

Choose this day whom you will serve. -- JOSHUA. 24:15

About Our Speaker...

I was born in Richmond, Virginia, and I lived outside of Philadelphia until I was seven years old. My family moved to Roanoke, Virginia, where I lived until I entered William and Mary in 1974.

I suffered migraine headaches through college. In 1977 I was diagnosed with adult onset hydrocephalus, was operated on four times to install shunts in my head, and was placed in a chemically induced coma.

The neurosurgeon concluded that I had had significant brain damage and encouraged my mother to take me off the life support system. My mother refused. I woke up from the coma, but I couldn’t move my hands, or walk, or talk.

I begged the One who made me, the One who formed me in the womb, the One who gave me a name before anyone else knew who I was, to give me back my hands, to let me walk again, and to open my mouth.

That One heard my prayer!

When we are privileged to vote for some part of the governing body of our land we should pray for an open mind. We want always to cast our vote for the people and the policies that will provide the best possible outcomes for everyone. Each person is free to follow their own guidance. Sweet Spirit direct me to make right choices and allow other to choose as they are directed.

Message from the Board

Sunday’s Flipped Church was a joyful celebration of gratitude and community! Duncan, Ingrid, and baby James led us in a powerful reflection on thankfulness — reminding us how gratitude expands when shared. As members called out what they were thankful for, the room filled with warmth and laughter. Then, as we focused on a single blessing — clean water — we began to uncover layer upon layer of grace: the systems, people, and miracles that make that gift possible. (Duncan did an admirable job captured just how far that gratitude reached!)

Following service, Johan shared an overview of UWSC’s financial health, and Teo reflected on how our shared time, treasure, and talents multiply within and beyond our walls. We were reminded of this truth by a livestream comment all the way from Uganda:

“I want to express my gratitude ... for enabling people online to be involved blessing everyone.”

After service, Divine Order continued to unfold — with stories of synchronicity, connection, and the unmistakable presence of Spirit in action.

Unity’s principles aren’t just words; they are living energy moving through us and around us. If you have a story of gratitude or divine synchronicity to share, I’d love to include it in a UWSC gratitude memory book — a reflection of how Spirit continues to move through our beloved community.

Love and Light,

A
