WEEKLY UPDATE September 20 , 2022

Message from the Minister

Affirmation: I let go into the transforming light of God within.

All people are yearning to awaken. Humanity reflects this as we evolve beyond out-of-date ways, moving past limitations, and into the next step in our spiritual evolution.

I am in the process of spiritual awakening. My divine gifts benefit not only myself but the whole of humanity as well.

I take my place in this global spiritual process of awakening and do my part. Every encounter I have with others, no matter how small, is turning the tide of transforming us all. I make a courageous choice on behalf of all of my sisters and brothers and for my soul. I awaken to the unfolding of my being and put that awareness to work in my world.

Sunday September 25 - Rev. Denise Creech

For next two weeks Rev. Denise will be talking about the Apostle Paul. Paul’s ministry was approximately 15 years and spread Jesus’ teachings through his travels and letters.  In Part 1, Rev. Denise will share the story of Paul’s awakening and the metaphysical meaning of his transformation. In Part 2 she will share Paul’s message and how his message was shared with the people and who was receptive and why. Join her as she sheds some light on Paul, a misunderstood messenger of the Anointed One, Jesus.

A Shared Family Prayer for Kindness and Compassion

We come together in this moment to open our hearts in the energy of prayer.

We take a deep breath in, imagining it is moving through us to filter out any stress, worry, or tension that might be hanging out in our bodies. Feeling it all dissolving, we blow it out, wiggling it out of any parts where it may be stuck as it leaves.

With the next breath, we feel clean, fresh air coming in, picturing love pouring in with it, filling us up with kindness and compassion.

Breathing out any leftover worry or discomfort, we envision ourselves filled to overflowing with love to share wherever we go. We see love, we feel love, and we are love.

And so it is. Amen.

Spiritual Economics by Eric Butterworth

Excerpt from the Introduction

Any person who is experiencing lack is, in some way, living in opposition to the universal flow.

Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity School of Christianity, shocked the religious establishment of his day (and ours) when he said, “It is a sin to be poor!” He wasn’t referring to moral turpitude, but rather to “the frustration of potentiality.” He believed and taught that, when we establish ourselves in the consciousness of God, the whole Universe moves to flow into us with its abundance of life and substance. This is obviously what Jesus had in mind when he said, “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things shall be yours as well.”

 (Mt. 6:33)

To get the most from this study, you will want to declare your independence from the belief that your personal welfare is completely tied to the economic fluctuations of the world “out there.” You will also want to establish yourself in the unassailable conviction that the free flow of substance can only be dammed up from within and that no one can keep your good from you but you.

Calling All Angels

A great big Thank You for all who helped to create a beautiful evening of prayer for our World Day of Prayer. Margie and Richard led the hospitality. Jane and Jude read prayers and filled the space with the good vibration of prayer. Paulette filled our sanctuary with music and song. Christopher did our sound and PowerPoint. Then, of course, all of you who came to be a part of our evening with your sacred presence.

Another great big Thank You for my wonderful send off. I appreciate all the kind words and love I received from all of you along with the beautiful cards and generous gift. I will continue to carry all of you in my heart! Much love.

When the potential of inclement weather heads our way we want to let you know how to stay informed of potential impacts to our Sunday Services. If Sunday Services will be cancelled, we will share that information by 8 AM on Sunday on our Facebook page and in an email to all those who receive our weekly newsletter. If you know of congregation members who attend in person services but do not have internet access, please let us know so that we can arrange an alternate way to contact them directly.

Create a great offer by adding words like "free" "personalized" "complimentary" or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take an action, so think about inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining"!
