Unity and the Spirituality of Rumi - Part 1
Dear Friends,

Are you ready to experience a heart-opening? Join us Sunday as we ignite the fires of our heart in a 3-part series on Unity and The Spirituality of Rumi.

Rumi was a 13th century Persian mystic, born in 1207 in Balkhi, Afghanistan ~ who wrote exquisite spiritual poetry ~ and his work is as fresh and current today as it was 900 years ago. Through his poetry he had the capacity to tap into the human condition and through that touch the depths of human emotions ~ and leave us awe-inspired. Join us as we dance with Rumi and poems and discover how they relate to Unity’s 5 Principles and other spiritual teachings as brought forth by our founders, Charles and Myrtle Fillmore.

Love and blessings,
Rev. Toni Boehm

Unity’s Gift to You
On Sunday, November 21, while we are at Unity raking leaves, we’ll also be distributing items you’ll need for the holiday season and our planned events: advent books, 2022 calendars, white stones and dissolving paper. So, whether you’re there to rake leaves or just want to stop by between 1:30-3:30 p.m., you can pick up your package. Doing so will result in postage savings for Unity.  If you can’t make it on November 21, you can pick up on Saturday, 11/27, between 9:00-11:00 a.m. We look forward to seeing you! And if you're unable to stop by either day and want the package mailed to you, please email Kayla at unity@unityrockies.org

AND SPEAKING OF VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES…

The Bingo team is starting to see additional regular players. That is likely due to our new procedure of having more frequent ‘must-go’ days where we definitely give away a jackpot of $1,199 (in addition to our normal prizes totaling $1,600.) Things are looking up! Since my last Bingo message, one of our volunteers got a full-time job and another started another activity and can no longer volunteer. That puts us down two volunteers. We really need to have several additional folks who could volunteer at least once a month for about 3 hours, any Wednesday from about 11:30 to about 2:30 at Carefree Bingo (3440 Carefree Circle North, about 1 block west of Academy Blvd.). It would help out the Bingo team greatly. If you could come more often, that would be even better. If you can help us out, contact me, Don Turner, at dontur@gmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
Raking Leaves!

Plan to join in for some fresh air and exercise on Sunday, November 21, at 1:30 p.m. at Unity. The trees are shedding their leaves and we don’t want to "leave" our spiritual center unprepared for winter! All are invited to bring rakes, leaf-blowers, wheelbarrows, and trash bags Sunday afternoon after our service. Hot apple cider and cookies provided in appreciation!
The Christmas Tree Project

The Christmas Tree Project provided trees and trimmings to almost 500 local families last year who would have been without during the drear of the pandemic. This great program already has over 1000 requests for help this year, and we need Elves to make the magic happen!

The COVID-Safe process is for volunteers to sort and box donated decorations outside on Saturday, Dec. 4th. Then we give trees and decoration boxes out as cars drive thru on Saturday, Dec. 11th.  Specific hours are listed below, but you do not need to come for the entire time. Any hands make lighter work! This is a great service experience for older kids and for adults who cherish bringing Christmas joy to families!

Check out their website: www.thechristmastreeproject.org

Last year was my first time -- and it was a BLAST! To join the Elves, send me your name, email, and phone number -- like this: Peg Nugent, peg.nugent84@gmail.com, 414-333-6641

Setup: Saturday, December 4th from 9-3 at 4575 Galley Rd, Suite 200E
Giveaway: Saturday, December 11th from 8-3 at 4575 Galley Rd, Suite 200E

Ways to Support Your Unity Spiritual Center
Did you know that if you place your Amazon order from www.smile.amazon.com, you can select Unity Spiritual Center in the Rockies to receive 0.5%. of your eligible purchases? All you need to do is click on AmazonSmile from the pulldown screen for your account, select Unity Spiritual Center in the Rockies, and start your shopping. Your donation will be made at no extra cost to you. Although 0.5% is not a large donation and isn't intended to replace your regular contributions to Unity, AmazonSmile is a great way to enhance your giving to Unity.

Also, if you work for a company that has a matching gift program, please consider matching your gifts to Unity. Matching gift programs can sometimes double or triple your charitable donations.
You can also support Unity when you shop at King Soopers/Kroger. They have changed some procedures for the community rewards program that will make it easier for you to participate! 5% of every purchase you make will be donated back to our community. Please use the following link to be directed to the community rewards program page of King Soopers website:
