UOTR Social Justice Team Project
IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO STILL DONATE! The UOTR Social Justice Team is very grateful for the hundreds of books that have been donated to children so far. This is an ongoing project and we welcome more donations of books in new and very good condition from early readers to young adults. Please spread the word in whatever manner you can.

So far we have already made two deliveries to an elementary school in Lynn and an after-school program in Salem, MA and the children have been delighted to receive books they can keep for their own. Thank you for your support! Contact Andrea at [email protected] with any questions.
We Need New Board Members

To facilitate a seamless continuation of operations, our previous treasurer Stan Wrobel has assumed to role and duties of Operations Director. We thank Stan for his service as Board Treasurer. In addition to his departure, some board members will be finishing up their terms, which means that we will have three open positions on the Board. If you would like to serve UOTR in a more meaningful way please email the board as soon as possible [email protected]
Property Sale Update

Funds from the property sale were finally released by the state. The final total is $945,000. Spirit On The River (our property management 501(c)4) issued Unity On The River $807,000. We will adhere to the plan we shared a few months ago:
  • Part of the property sale money will remain with SOTR to pay taxes, attorney fees and/or any unforeseen UOTR expenses before dissolving SOTR.
  • UOTR will pay off some outstanding debts
  • The remaining funds will be placed in an interest generating monetary vehicle until the new building search is completed.

Thanks again to the Spirit On The River team (Terri Naorian, Tom Paolini, Christian Hayes) for their outstanding work throughout this entire process. Click here to read all previous updates.
An Important Letter From The Board...

Dear Congregant,

We hope this letter finds you and your family well during these challenging times. Although we have not been able to gather in person for the past many months, spiritually we are always together in our thoughts and hearts. We sincerely miss seeing each and every one of you in person but first and foremost we value everyone’s safety and well being. We hope through our virtual Sunday Services you have been feeling the peace and the love, and we are always so excited to visit with everyone at the virtual hospitality following the service. While we are blessed to be able to stay connected in this way, it is not our preferred way of being together as a spiritual community. We all visualize the beautiful day we will be together again and in the meantime we continue our individual spiritual growth as well as the business of the church.

We are reaching out to you because as a community we have some upcoming important decisions to make together.

The UOTR Social Justice Team is here! A group of congregants (including both long-time and new) have stepped up to ask what is ours to do to create a world of justice, equality, and equanimity that works for all.

The team's Mission Statement: "We are passionately committed to bringing awareness to social, environmental and economic injustices. We respectfully invite and engage ourselves, the community and the greater world in education, conversation and action to put our spiritual teachings into practice and live the Truth that we know in service to the disenfranchised and the marginalized."

During these beginning stages the team will connect via Zoom every 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month at 7:30pm ET. If you're interested in joining the team please email Lynette Culverhouse and let her know - [email protected]
