Night Work Scheduled for the Morena Northern Pipelines and Tunnels at Genesee Avenue and Centurion Square

During the week of October 28, the City of San Diego's contractor will be conducting night work near the intersection of Genesee Avenue and Centurion Square as part of the Morena Conveyance North Project. During this time, the contractor will be installing temporary piping crossing Genesee Avenue north of Centurion Square. Working hours will be from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. 

What to Expect:

  • This work may include construction noise.
  • Illumination from light towers may be visible.
  • Flaggers will direct traffic through the work area during construction activities.

About Pure Water San Diego

Pure Water San Diego is the City of San Diego’s phased, multi-year program that will provide nearly half of San Diego’s water supply locally by 2035. Pure Water San Diego will use proven water purification technology to clean recycled water to produce safe, high-quality drinking water. The Program offers a cost-effective investment for San Diego’s water needs and will provide a reliable, sustainable water supply.

Phase 1 includes several projects that will clean recycled water to produce 30 million gallons per day (mgd) of high-quality purified water, reducing the City of San Diego’s dependence on imported water.
