97th Annual Meeting

Call for Abstracts

The Pacific Divisio n of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) is excited to be hosting its 97th annual meeting back in San Diego on the University of San Diego (USD) campus from June 14-17, 2016.  
 
Please submit an abstract to be considered for a poster or oral presentation.  The deadline for abstract submission is Friday April 22, 2016.

Undergraduate Research Conference 

The undergraduate research conference celebrates the collaboration between USD undergraduates and the committed faculty, administration and staff that  mentor them in research and scholarly activities.

 This event is also a collaboration between the 
Office of Undergraduate Research 
and the  campus community. As such, we would like to express our gratitude to all involved and  would like to recognize the following people for their significant contributions to the event and their commitment to the undergraduate research students:

Doing Research this Summer?  
Register as a Research Scholar!
All USD students engaged in undergraduate research/scholarship activities and creative works are 
required to register as a Research Scholar 
regardless of funding source or formal program affiliation. 

Research Scholars include: 
  • Beckman Scholars
  • McNair Scholars
  • NSF REU Scholars
  • PURE Scholars
  • SURE Scholars
  • Students who have received a scholarship for summer research
  • Students who are conducting research on a faculty member's grant
  • Students who are dong an independent project with a faculty advisor/volunteering
  • Other visiting researchers (high school, international, etc.) 
Responsibilities and Benefits
  • Responsible Conduct in Research (RCR) Online Training/Other research ethics training as needed
  • 50% discount on on-campus housing during the summer (USD students only; see housing section below)
  • Participation in professional development workshops
  • Invitations to special networking events with other researchers
