UW Campuses to open Online Booking for Domestic Travel
In order to help with the sudden increase of travel requests, The UW online booking tool, Concur is now open for domestic booking across all campuses.

UW System Administration will continue to restrict bookings in Concur. For some campuses, this will not be a change as the ablity to book online travel opened up earlier in the pandemic. Employees are encouraged to continue to review their campus specific COIVD-19 travel protocols as pre-approval both for domestic and/or international travel may be required.

It is exciting to see so many employees starting to travel again, and we are prioritizing the ability for employees to self-book. Any questions about your specific campus COVID-19 travel protocols, can be directed to your travel manager.

The simplest explanation is “nothing is free.” Everything we use, both for the university system and in our personal lives, has a cost. However, some costs are hidden, and others are called out directly. Below are some hidden costs that you may not realize support the University of Wisconsin System
Travel has Changed Since the Start of 2020
-by Jesse Funk, Regional Travel Manager
Here we are, two years past the first COVID positive case in Wisconsin (February 5, 2020) and the travel world (the whole world, really) is desperately trying to get back to something we remember as normal.

While you can make an argument that some parts of society are better because of the pandemic (more work from home or flexible work options, better mobile ordering technology at restaurants and grocery stores, and an ultra-low unemployment rate), it’s difficult to find any area of the world that was not touched by COVID-19.
