Gold on a Budget - Alex Boyd

10:00 AM - 5:30 PM
This class explores techniques for creating maximum visual impact with minimal amounts of gold. Students will learn how to overlay 18k wire on a ring shank, fabricate 22k gold bezels for cabochons, and construct sterling silver backplates with 22k rims. These components will be assembled into a finished piece, with a focus on maintaining clean, precise solder seams between metals.

Dimensional Layering 3 Ways - Suzanne Williams
Friday - Monday, December 5-8, 2025
10:00am - 5:30 PM
In this 4-day in-person workshop, participants will learn three different methods to join sterling silver components in layered constructions, resulting in three-dimensional jewelry pieces. The workshop will include demonstrations on planning and designing for each technique, creating pierced metal layers that work together on different levels, and assembling two- or three-layered structures using the following methods: Cold Connections, Framed Soldering and Spacer Soldering.

Meet Allyson Giesen – New Beading Instructor.
Allyson Giesen discovered her love of beads at age nine, spending countless hours in the bead shop across from her mom’s office.
After moving from Milwaukee to Dallas in 1997 for college, she worked in a local bead store and began teaching classes—while also performing as a
professional dancer.
When she retired from dance, Allyson purchased the beloved Dallas bead shop Beading Dreams
on Lovers Lane in 2007. For years it was a creative hub, offering unique beads and up to 40 classes a month. Although the brick-and-mortar store has since closed, Beading Dreams
continues to thrive online with tutorials and resources.
A generous and encouraging teacher, Allyson excels at helping students tackle ambitious
projects. Bring her a photo or an idea that feels overwhelming, and she’ll guide you step-by-
step until it is complete.

Discover the art of “slow stitching” with Keren Zurbriggen, who blends embroidery and cross-
stitch “on steroids” to create richly textured, sculptural pieces. Using luxurious threads—from
silk to wool—you will learn techniques that add stunning dimension, perfect for wall hangings,
quilting, or decorative pillows.
Keren first fell in love with this creative process six years ago while living in Arizona. After taking classes herself, she quickly began receiving requests from her quilting group to teach—and soon discovered her passion for sharing the craft. Her students progress from simple stitches to increasingly intricate designs, all while working with premium-quality threads that elevate every project.
Having recently moved to the Dallas area to be closer to family, she was excited to find The Craft Guild where she could share this art and fiber class.

Sewing instructor Virginia Wygal spent over 30 years in the garment industry, where she designed clothing, led creative teams, and served as a Director of Product Development. Her love of fabrics, textures, and design runs deep — and today she channels that experience into a variety of creative pursuits.
As a mixed media collage artist, Virginia creates sculptural pieces with fabrics, fibers, and stitching, bringing new life to materials with rich history. She’s also an online educator, teaching fabric arts, patternmaking, and small business practices to makers worldwide. Through her weekly podcast, The Textile Creative, she shares inspiration, practical tips, and encouragement for fabric-loving creatives.
In her sewing classes, Virginia combines her industry know-how with her passion for helping others grow creatively, guiding students from their very first stitches to advanced techniques that unlock a whole new world of fabric and fiber making.
